Our Story

SOKA was established during a period of profound transition, as Karin and her family relocated across the world to begin a new life in Luxembourg.

Leaving behind family, familiarity, and a fast-paced life in South Africa, Karin found herself searching for grounding, purpose, and a sense of belonging while adapting to a new country.

Candle making became a source of therapy and self-care. Through the mindful blending of pure essential oils and the slow ritual of melting and pouring natural soy wax, Karin began to find calm, comfort, and connection through the art of making.

SOKA is deeply personal. Karin and her son are allergy sufferers, which is why every candle is made without synthetic fragrances, using only natural, carefully selected ingredients that are gentle on sensitive bodies and minds.

Rooted in intentional self-care and mindful living, each SOKA candle is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and reconnect — one moment at a time.

Our philosophy:

We don't choose candles by fragrance.

We choose them by how we want to feel.

Self-care begins long before the candle is lit.

It begins with intention.

Every SOKA candle is thoughtfully created around a mood, not just a fragrance, to help you create small rituals that support your wellbeing.

Whether you're seeking Calm, Energy, Balance, Joy or a chance to Re-Set, each candle is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and be intentional about how you want to feel

Why choose SOKA

  • Natural ingredients

Our candles are made with care, for sensitive bodies and minds. All the ingredients we use are carefully selected and never synthetic. We blend pure essential oils into 100% soy wax and use wooden wicks for that extra special crackling sound.

  • Mindful Craftsmanship

Every SOKA candle is hand-poured in small batches, in Luxembourg. We believe in quality over quantity, and intention over speed.

  • Mindful rituals

Every candle is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself— one moment at a time.
